PTSD, Bipolar Disorder Behind Chris Brown's Agressive Behavior
Chris Brown has had some infamous bouts of aggression and unpleasant behavior over the past few years. According to the rehab facility he recently checked into, the singer has been suffering from bipolar disorder and PTSD, contributing to his outbursts.
E! News has obtained court documents, which confirm that the facility has diagnosed Brown with both psychological disorders. Apparently his violent behavior was caused by a combination of factors beyond his disorders – sleep deprivation and self-medication are also on the list.
"Mr. Brown will also require close supervision by his treating physician in order to ensure his bipolar mental health condition remains stable," a letter from the unnamed facility reads. "It is not uncommon for patients with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Bipolar II to use substances to self-medicate their biomedical mood swings and trauma triggers.”
Brown recently posted this cryptic tweet, possibly related to his diagnosis. ****

Despite his history of aggression, a representative of the medical facility has pointed out that Brown has been exemplary in his reception of the treatment and with his community service. Brown was in court for a progress hearing on his 2009 assault conviction against Rihanna.
