Jason Derulo Eyeing Acting Career

R&B singer Jason Derulo is keen to follow his girlfriend Jordin Sparks' lead and pursue a career in acting.

The former American Idol star, who has been dating Derulo for over two years, made her _B_roadway debut in 2010's In the Heights and she went on to make her movie debut opposite Whitney Houston in a remake of Sparkle.

Now it appears the It Girl hitmaker, who graduated from the prestigious American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York, has also set his sights on making a name for himself in the film and theatre industry.

He tells Wenn, "I definitely want to do _B_roadway at some point... It'll probably be later in life when I'm a little more ready to settle down in (one) place. I'll probably jump into movies before I do that. I've been... looking at a couple of scripts."

_B_ut the 23 year old insists he won't be accepting any roles until after the release of his third album, which is due for release in late 2013: "I'm focused on the music, but shortly after that we can break into some other endeavours. I'd love to do an action (film) or drama given the right opportunity."
