Marc Jacobs' Cartoon Fashion

Marc Jacobs thinks fashion is "a cartoon world".

The designer insists that there is no such thing as "bad trends" because people are able to adopt their own looks and put an individual twist on his catwalk style.

He said: "It doesn't really matter what the trend is or what the look is - you've got to have one, so I find it's like a cartoon world out there where everyone's sort of playing dress-up, and that's why I say there are no bad trends.

"I don't care if you're doing the sleazy suburban look or a nerd look or a jock look. Young people have always dressed as their idols, but I think we've greater accessibility to how those people look today."

Explaining his own design inspiration, Marc reveals his collection is for a "youthful army".

He added to DNA India: "My collection is always about this youthful, angelic, idyllic army. It includes vintage lines, girly details like puff sleeves and quirky oversized buttons."
