Barney Ross is the leader of a group of mercenary fighters, his team is made up of Lee Christmas, Yin Yang, Hale Caesar, Toll Road and Gunnar Jensen, each member is a specialist in varying areas of destruction and fighting.

When the team receive a mission to overthrow a brutal dictator named General Gaza based on an island off the South American coast, they form a plan. As soon as Ross and Christmas arrive in Vilena on a reconnaissance mission it becomes apparent things aren't quite as they originally thought. A freedom fighter named Sandra is their guide and explains the islanders dilemmas. Sandra, Ross and Christmas are met by some familiar and unwelcome faces from the mercenaries past forcing the men to flee the country but leaving Sandra in serious danger of being murdered. Troubled by this failure, Ross persuades the full team to return to Vilena, rescue the girl and free the people.
