Lady GaGa revealed an incredibly dark new song at a recent show in Melbourne, Australia on Tuesday night according to E! Online. The 25 year-old was ploughing through her usual hit laden set in the latest leg in what's been a high profile world tour to date, before sombering the mood with a track that's lyrics alluded to suicide.
"I wrote it a little while ago, and I've never ever played it for anyone," she told the crowd. "This song is a little sad. But it's about some of the most deep and personal thoughts I've ever had. It's called 'Princess Die,' D-I-e." There was no denying the sadness of the song, with Gaga singing the lyrics "Leave the coffin open when I go/And leave my pearls and lipstick on so everybody knows/Pretty will be the photograph I leave/Laying down on famous knives so everybody sees," Gaga sang, adding such verses as "I wish that I was strong/I wish that I was wrong/I wish that I could cope, but I took pills and left a note." Later in the song, she sang "I'll do it in the swimming pool so everybody sees."
Last year of course Gaga had a very real experience of suicide after a teen fan of hers, 14 year-old Jamey Rodemeyer, killed himself after suffering bullying at school. The incident led to the pop star setting up the Born This Way Foundation.
