Justin Bieber has brushed off the home swatting prank that prompted police officials to raid his Los Angeles estate on Tuesday night (09Oct12), insisting he's just glad he wasn't home at the time.
Cops swarmed the compound after receiving a false report about a gun-toting trespasser, but quickly realised they were victims of another fake intruder alert prank, and determined the teen superstar had been targeted in an ongoing 'swatting' trend, in which a caller reports a bogus but serious crime to police.
The Bieber hoax follows reports of similar incidents at Ashton Kutcher and Miley Cyrus' properties in recent weeks.
The singer was on tour when the drama unfolded and now he has spoken out about it.
During an appearance on Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest's radio show on Friday morning (12Oct12), Bieber said, "Supposedly some people called someone and said there was some activity going on at my house. They said there was machine guns and everything. It was pretty crazy. But it's all good, nothing happened. It was all rumours."
