Sleep Token trump Drake, Lady Gaga and Sabrina Carpenter to The New York Times' Best Song of 2025
Sleep Token have surprisingly topped The New York Times' Best Songs of 2025 list.
Sleep Token have beaten the likes of Drake, Lady Gaga and Sabrina Carpenter to The New York Times' Best Song of 2025.
The prestigious American publication has unveiled its list of 48 tracks of the year, and, surprisingly, Caramel from the masked metalcore band's album Even In Arcadia has come out on top.
The New York Times' music critic described the track as: "A huge, gloriously silly and brutally effective amalgam of abandoned styles ripe for reinvigorating — rap-metal, dream-prog, pop-reggaeton, backpack hip-hop, cosplay rock, metalcore and more."
The album topped the Billboard 200 chart in the US upon its release in June.
Sleep Token are also up for a slew of Grammy Awards, including Best Metal Performance for the lead single Emergence, while Caramel will compete for Best Rock Song.
In second place is Gnarly by K-pop-inspired girl group KATSEYE.
The list also includes Tate McRae's Sports Car, Justin Bieber's Daisies, and Cry for Me by The Weeknd.
