Lily Allen will unveil a brand new single entitled 'Air Balloon' as she gears up for what looks to be a very busy year for the star.

The 'Not Fair' hitmaker took a hiatus from the music industry in 2009, but it's been far from a much-needed break. She has had a few highs having married builder Sam Cooper and given birth to two daughters, and a few downs having had her second miscarriage, but she seems truly ready to return with a bang in 2014. We had a few teasers towards the end of 2013 with her John Lewis Christmas single 'Somewhere Only We Know' (a Keane cover) and the release of her upcoming third album's first single 'Hard Out Here', but the exceptionally catchy and stupidly cheerful 'Air Balloon' is marking the New Year.

The single is set to be released on March 2nd, but there's no word yet on when to expect album three. 'I'm still sort of piecing it all together to be honest', she admitted to DJs Dave Berry and Lisa Snowdon on the Capital Breakfast Show. 'I can't really give you any specifics, but I'm really really proud of it and I'm really pleased with it.'

We're certainly looking forward to it if this new single is anything to go by, a song which Lily described as about 'daydreaming'. 'My husband is constantly infuriated with me, because he'll be sort to be talking to me when we're sitting down having dinner or something, and I'm looking at him, but I'm totally not paying any attention at all', she confessed.

You can also look forward to seeing her play at this year's Glastonbury Festival which she confirmed in an interview on BBC Radio 1. She has a string of other less major events for the year but will be joining Maverick Sabre and Sophie Ellis-Bextor at the Royal Albert Hall for a charity concert in aid of children's organisation Coram.
