Sofia Vergara Looks To The Future, Begins Freezing Her Eggs

Sofia Vergara, the Colombian actress and star of Modern Family, has revealed she is having her eggs frozen as she looks to the future with fiance Nick Loeb. Vergara, 40, told Vogue magazine that she's taking hormone pills as part of the process. "I have to be careful what I eat because they're freezing my eggs!" she said.

Vergara, the highest paid actress on American television, explained of her egg freezing, "They want to get as many good eggs as they can because usually you produce them but they're not good. They have to be perfect, perfect, perfect ones. My boyfriend [Nick Loeb] is 37, younger than me, never had kids."

The sultry actress , who previously told In Style magazine that she was considering freezing her eggs, has one son, Manolo Gonzales, from a previous marriage in her native South America. She named him after a character from the Al Pacino movie Scarface, "I looooved that movie, and I was in looove with Steven Bauer.And then my son, when he grew up, he was like, 'Oh yeah, Mom, how amazing you named me after a drug-dealer junkie!'" she joked. Manolo is well aware of his mother's plans for another child, though wishes it had come sooner. "You know, sometimes he used to scream at me when he was younger," Sofia explained, "Why can't you have another baby, so you can stop focusing on me?'"

Sofia and her Modern Family co-stars will star in the fourth season of ABC's award winning sitcom later this year.
