Passenger (formerly Mike Rosenberg Band) is a five piece from Brighton, who are destined for greatness in 2007.

Their music is an extraordinary mixture of acoustic folk in the storytelling tradition, and an epic-yet-intimate, hip hop and electronica-influenced modernity, suffused with pain, sadness and precocious wisdom, yet completely free of defeatist miserablism. There is an alchemy at work here, which becomes immediately apparent at a Passenger live show, where grown-up fans of acoustic balladry join with gaggles of starry-eyed girls in hushed appreciation of the quintet's lushness, charm and intensity. They're fronted by 22 year old Mike Rosenberg, a young man who is capable, through his lyrics, of telling stories from the perspective of the wise and world-weary man, lost and rootless.a rare talent.

The forthcoming single, 'Wicked Man's Rest' is a darkly beautiful after hours heartbreaker of a song. It features a sample of Allen Ginsberg despairing about consumerism and the song itself is an emotional response to the experience of living in the contemporary world. On one level it's about a character observing the world around him and seeing the good and the bad in intense detail and wrestling with his conscience. But on a bigger scale, the 'tired of the new wave lyric' is about wrestling with and finding a way to deal with modern life and society as a whole.

'Wicked Man's Rest' is in many ways a perfect introduction to what Passenger do - a collision of acoustica, samples, beat poetry, & emotive lyrical imagery within the framework of a surging and epic song.
