Paul Exben has it all: a job at one of Paris' most exclusive law firms, where he's tipped for promotion, a beautiful wife and two sons and a big house which he bought with his big salary. But lately his wife has been rather cold towards him - she has been cheating on Paul with a local photographer, Greg Kremer.

In a moment of madness, Paul kills his wife's lover and just like that, his perfect life is in ruins. Paul is forced to assume a new identity to escape Paris - the identity of the man he has just shot. He ends up in former Yugoslavia and finds out that his new identity is allowing him to live his life to the full - something he couldn't do when living in Paris.

The Big Picture is based on the 1997 novel of the same name by American author Douglas Kennedy. The Big Picture made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, before being released in France and Belgium in November, with the original title "L'homme qui voulait vivre sa vie" (the man who wanted to live his life). It was released in the USA in April this year at the COLCOA Film Festival and is due to be released in the UK on July 22nd 2011.
