Zoe Kravitz loves riding the subway.

The 'Divergent' actress - who is the daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet - credits her family and friends for keeping her grounded but she only realises how much her life has changed when she goes back home to New York.

She said: ''My friends and family are everything to me. They keep me grounded.

''I've been working a lot so I haven't been home to New York very much and that's when I really feel the difference.

''My favourite thing is to take the subway and just walk around with my headphones on. Now people recognise me and it's changed with everyone on social media - they all want selfies.''

The 26-year-old star has a close group of female friends she can always rely on and knows they'll always be there if she needs them for advice.

Asked who she turns to, she said: ''My best friend who lives with me, and I have another best friend who was actually physically there when I was born. Also Riley Keough who was in 'Mad Max' - I've known her since we were three.''

Zoe recently joined Twitter but only did so after someone else opened a social media account in her name.

She explained to ELLE magazine: ''I only joined because there was a fake Zoe Kravitz on Twitter saying all this weird stuff that I didn't want to be associated with.''
