Zendaya Coleman has accepted Giuliana Rancic's public apology.

The 18-year-old actress and singer, who hit back the 'Fashion Police' co-host earlier this week for making an ''outrageously offensive'' comment about her dreadlocks at the Oscars on the show on Monday (23.02.15), has forgiven the 40-year-old star after she admitted she'd crossed the line while apologising on E! News on Tuesday (24.02.15).

The former Disney star responded on Instagram on Wednesday (25.02.15), writing: ''Giuliana, I appreciate your apology and I'm glad it was a learning experience for you and for the network. I hope that others negatively affected by her words can also find it in their hearts to accept her apology as well.''

Zendaya received support from a string of celebrities, including Kerry Washington and Khloé Kardashian, after she branded Giuliana ''ignorant'' for saying, ''I feel like she smells like patchouli oil ... or maybe weed,'' because of her dreadlocks.

She was initially tempted to lash out at the presenter, but spent two hours composing her response because she didn't want to be ''hurtful.''

She wrote: ''It is important in this journey to remember that just because someone has inflicted hurt upon us, it does not give us the right to do the same. Body shaming and other hurtful tactics will never get the job done. As hard as it was to stop MYSELF from being ignorant and from posting the first mean words that came to my mind because I was hurt, I had to think about the bigger picture.''

Giuliana initially apologised on Twitter but then addressed the issue on E! News after Kelly Osbourne threatened to quit 'Fashion Police' over the controversy.
