The 'Scrubs' star's crowd-funded movie project has now been unveiled in all its glory and is set to make another smash after the incredible success of 'Garden State' in 2004 which grossed $35 million worldwide from a $2.5 million budget. 'Wish I Was Here' is not a sequel, but it does draw on similar themes including parental death and feelings of desperation and being lost in particular stages of your life.

The movie is based around a 35-year-old man named Aidan Bloom who is struggling to juggle a floundering acting career with being a husband and being a father, while his own father becomes more and more deathly ill as time goes on. When he can no longer afford to send his children to private school, he is forced to try and home-school them despite having no previous knowledge of teaching.

The film was funded as a Kickstarter project and raised $3,105,473 for production - over $1 million more than its intended $2 million goal. Zach explained at the start of the project, 'I wrote 'Garden State' about a time in my life when I was feeling overwhelmed and lost in my twenties. I guess you could say 'Wish I Was Here' was about the next chapter of your life in your thirties.'

We have a long wait yet for the film, co-written by Braff's brother Adam, with it scheduled for release in the US in September 2014.
