Yoko Ono is set to hand out $20,000 (£12,500) in scholarships as part of a songwriting competition launched in memory of her late husband John Lennon.
Aspiring songwriters have been asked to submit original compositions for the contest and the three best entrants will be awarded grants to help pay for their college education.
The John Lennon Scholarship competition, funded by donations from Ono and music giants Gibson, is open to American university students ranging in age from 17 to 24.
Entries must be submitted by 13 April (12).
