Fact: Bosses at a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania brewing company are creating a new beer inspired by rappers the Wu Tang Clan. The Dock Street Brewery's Dock Street Beer Ain't Nuthin' to Funk With will be aged for six months while the band's music is played beside the barrel.
Fact: Wu-Tang Clan are to host a press conference on 28 January (15) to detail their plans to sell the singular copy of their new double album in an online auction. They have chosen Paddle8.com, an art and design online auction house, to host the sale of the only copy of Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, which took five years to record.
Fact: Wu-Tang Clan rapper RZA has become the latest musician to pay tribute to the late Nelson Mandela with a song. The hip-hop star released Gift Of Hope online on Wednesday (11Dec13). The track features vocals from singer Will Wells, who he recently collaborated with on a tribute track for late Hollywood star Paul Walker.
Fact: Touring rap festival Rock The Bells is set to return in 2014 after poor sales forced officials to scrap its remaining two dates in Washington, D.C. and New Jersey earlier this year (13). Fact: Rapper Ghostface Killah has teamed up with skater brand Zoo York Institute to create a limited edition line of skateboards and T-shirts to promote the Wu-Tang Clan star's latest album, BIG DOE REHAB, which was released last month (Dec07). Only 500 of the creations are in existance, and will be given away in special promotional campaigns by Zoo York and the rapper's record label, Def Jam.
