Wild Beasts' new single 'Bed of Nails' is available to download in an exclusive postcard format from the band's record label, Domino Records. 'Bed of Nails' is taken from their third album, 'Smother', which was released earlier this year in May and peaked at number 17 in the UK Album Charts.
The accompanying music video, directed by Daniel Brereton, shows the band performing on a stage with the stage lights on them. The space around them is dark enough that you cannot see past their amplifiers and it is this that adds to the hypnotic, dreamy feel of the song.
Wild Beasts was formed in Kendal, in England's Lake District, in 2002, under the name Fauve. The original members, Hayden Thorpe (vocals, guitar, bass, keys) and Ben Little (guitar, keys) were joined by drummer Chris Talbot in January 2004 and the band changed their name to Wild Beasts. In September 2005, Wild Beasts relocated to Leeds and acquired a bassist, Tom Fleming. They signed to Domino Records in 2007. Their second album, Two Dancers, was released in 2009 and was nominated for the 2010 Mercury Prize but lost out to The xx.
