Wet Leg, the band on everyone's lips at the moment, keep the current forward momentum going with a new video for last year's double 'A' side single- 'Oh No'. The Isle Of White artists are currently the darlings of the musical press with a swell of positive publicity over the last year. Ever since Wet Leg dropped their infectious single - 'Chaise Lounge' back in June, they've made a huge impact and gained a sizable fan base.
Whilst there have been accusations of the band being an "industry plant" the feedback from fans has been generally very enthusiastic with one Australian excavator driver messaging, "For f**k sake man, I sit here as a 30 year old excavator driver who drinks beer and listens to metal, who is now randomly falling in love with the blonde girl on the Internet. I would drag my balls through 5km of fiery glass just to kiss her on the knee cap".
Not only did Wet Leg make the long list for the BBC's Sound Of 2022 poll, they ended up finishing runners up to the eventual winner, TikTok sensation - Pink Pantheress. Besides their ever growing following in the U.K, helped enormously by BBC Radio 1 airplay and support, the band have also enjoyed major exposure in America. As well as being guests on Later with Jools Holland in the U.K, Wet Leg also made their U.S television debut on Late Night With Seth Meyers when they performed on the show in late December.
Wet Leg have, to date, only had three releases, their debut single - 'Chaise Lounge', it's follow up - 'Wet Dream' and then finally - 'Too Late Now/Oh No' on November 29th last year. All four songs will appear on the band's eponymous debut album which is set for release on April 4th via Domino Records.
The duo, made up of "best mates" Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, are currently in the middle of a U.K tour that takes in Margate's Elsewhere, London's 100 Club and The Louisiana in Bristol before they embark on a U.S tour that starts in Milwaukee on March 2nd and ends in Los Angeles on March 30th. Following their trip state side Wet Leg will return to the U.K for more dates just as their first album is released.
