Five weeks ahead of their hotly anticipated debut album release, Wet Leg have shared the fifth song from their eponymous 14 track album. Following in the footsteps of 'Chaise Lounge', 'Wet Dream', 'Oh No' and 'Too Late Now', Wet Leg's latest single - 'Angelica', is yet another brilliant slice of perfectly peculiar pop.
The BBC's 'Sound Of' runners up look set to secure a high chart entry with their first full length record when it's released via Domino Records on April 8th. Just before Wet Leg's album drops the two long-term friends and founding members, Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, are scheduled to play the 6 Music Festival in Cardiff. Wet Leg take to the stage of The Great Hall on Sunday 3rd April, the last day of the five day festival. Appearing alongside the Isle Of White duo at the 6 Music Festival 2022 will be Cat Power, Johnny Marr, Self Esteem, Father John Misty and Gruff Rhys.
Following their gig in Wales, Wet Leg will perform at Banquet Records in Kingston-Upon-Thames (07/04), Rough Trade East in London (08/04), Chalk in Brighton (09/04) and Rough Trade Bristol (10/04). More live dates take in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Norwich, Portsmouth and London before Wet Leg commence the European leg of their tour in Paris on May 14th.
After wowing American audiences recently with their particularly English eccentricities Wet Leg will be sure to win over gig goers in Brussels, Cologne, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Munich and Berlin before they return to play the Festival circuit in the UK.
Wet Leg's latest tune, written about Rhian's oldest friend and recorded in Hester's living room, is, according to the latest press statement - about "the absurd" and "the sardonic". They describe it as "a trippy, synth-kissed journey through parties and regrets". Rhian said that the song is "laced with disenchantment. Even though the chorus is ‘good times, all the time’. That’s just impossible, isn’t it?"
Wet Leg's debut album will be released via Domino on April 8th.
