Supermode release Tell Me Why on 24th of July 2006.
Originally released on London Records back in 1984, by the legendary Bronski Beat, 'Small Town Boy' was a top 3 hit that sold thousands worldwide. The record featured Jimmy Somerville's unique soprano strains and a riff that became synonymous with the decade of hedonism and bad suits.
Fast forward to 2006 and an updated version by Supermode has already garnered support from the likes of Radio 1's Pete Tong and Judge Jules (who made it his Tried & Tested), as well as Roger Sanchez & Erick Morillo, who have been hammering it in all of their recent sets.
Dubbed the Swedish House Mafia by the music press, Axwell, Steve Angello, Eric Prydz & Sebastian Ingrosso, have taken the dance industry by storm with a slew of quality productions, remixes and legendary DJ sets. It was therefore only a matter of time before the remaining cognoscenti followed in Mr Prydz footsteps and set their sights chartward. Supermode's 'Tell Me Why', produced by Axwell & Angello, looks set to be the record that sees the Swedish house mafia set up shop in the UK charts once more.
'Tell Me Why' combines emotion-laden vocals with a spine-tingling riff and a hefty dollop of modern house, creating a handcrafted nugget of pure dancefloor perfection in the process.
2 Elements take their remix in a tough electro direction, adding a squelching bassline that'll leave you feeling dirtier than an office liaison with Mr Prescott. Raul Ricon throws an epic, piano laden house mix into the pot - spinning, twisting and filtering the riff over an ass-shaking beat, while TV Rock follow up their Australian Number 1 'Flaunt It', with a strutting mix of punchy rhythms and chunky synths.
Axwell is probably best known for his recent hit 'Feel The Vibe', which mounted an assault on the charts last year, alongside his remix of Hard Fi's 'Hard To Beat', which became a massive Ibiza anthem of 2005. Steve Angello first hit the lime light when he collaborated with Eric Prydz on the massive 'Woz Not Woz' and most recently has remixed the likes of Moby, Royksopp and Goldfrapp, as well as building an impressive reputation as a superstar DJ across the globe.
So on July 17th join Supermode as they take you back to a time of shoulder pads and champagne lunches, and prepare to make 'Small Town Boy' a hit once again with the release of 'Tell Me Why' on Data Records.
