Seve Ballesteros is possibly the most legendary Spanish golfer who ever lived, and who followed in the footsteps of his three older brothers in a passion that he took up on the beaches near his home as a young child. He broke records having won the most events on the European Tour between his mid-seventies to mid-nineties career, and is the namesake of European tournament cup, the Seve Trophy. Inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1999, Seve has been an influential figure in the sport, and has continued to be since his death in 2011 from a malign brain tumor. He may have had to fight hard to achieve everything he has, but it has been his touching rags to riches journey that has garnered him so much respect from sporting fans all over the world.
Documenting that incredible journey is new movie 'Seve', released with the support of his cancer charity the Seve Ballesteros Foundation. It has been directed by John-Paul Davidson ('Boys from Brazil', 'The Grotesque', 'Catherine the Great') and written by Tom Hodgson, and sees a series of interview clips, archival footage and stunning reenactments depicting the amazing story. The movie is in UK cinemas now.
