Chicago rapper Polo G addresses the price of fame in his latest single 'Rapstar', for which he has now unveiled the video. The song is expected to appear on his forthcoming third studio album 'Hall of Fame'.
Produced by Synco, the song is an emo rap over a trap beat featuring social media personality Einer Bankz on the ukulele. It's an expression of all of Polo G's polarising personas and emotions; from gangster to womaniser, drugs to mental health issues. He even compares himself to the late seminal 90s artist 2Pac. The video demonstrates as much, and also includes cameos from his son Tremani, as well as fellow rappers DDG, Trench Baby and Scorey.
Polo G released his last album in 2020. Entitled 'The Goat', the album reached number 2 in the US charts and featured collaborations with Mustard, Juice Wrld, Stunna 4 Vegas, NLE Choppa, Mike Will Made It, Lil Baby and BJ the Chicago Kid. Last year he also announced his own record label ODA Records (which stands for Only Dreamers Achieve Records).
