Pincers have now unveiled their darkly comic video for their new track 'A Sociopath To Fame' which is set to feature on their upcoming EP 'Molt' due out on November 18th 2013 through Volkspark records.
A series of grotesquely distorted visual metaphors for fame, internet and world issues such as animal cruelty and American gun policies, the video it features macabre collage-like images that have been deliberately altered to give a sense of complete absurdity, deep uneasiness and often mockery. It would be a challenge to find a video weirder than this this year and the idea behind the lyrics only increases that bizarreness; it's about someone who hunts down a boy over a social networking site and murders him in a particularly gruesome way, hoping to become famous by posting a photo of his crime online. The song itself has a dreamlike quality to it with synth and guitar sounds very much in the higher end of the scale, and the vocals often a resonant droning.
The new EP tells a peculiar but no doubt original series of tales about rather dark subject matter; it's clear that it will be a lot to swallow for anyone not expecting it.
