On the same day that Olivia Rodrigo has dropped her debut album, 'SOUR', she has also shared a live video for her new song, 'enough for you'. The acoustic folk song is a tender ballad that showcases Rodrigo's youthful and emotive voice to a tee and is just one of the 11 tracks on the new record.
After the extraordinary success of her debut single 'drivers licence', and it's subsequent follow up singles, 'deja vu' and more recently 'good 4 u', Olivia Rodrigo has experienced a whirlwind year to date. From a sensation on 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' to worldwide Pop princess within months has been quite a heady ride for the 18 year old actress and singer.
'drivers licence' has been one of this year's biggest singles to date having topped the Billboard 100 chart and spent a record nine weeks atop the UK singles chart. 'deja vu' and 'good 4 u' may not have replicated the unprecedented success of Olivia's debut single but nonetheless they have served to further mark her place on the world stage.
Talking about recording her new album in a recent interview Rodrigo said, "Acting definitely comes into play for me when I'm recording, I'm so into it, I will screw up my face and act out every word I'm singing. I think that makes the performance on the eventual record so much more impactful." Olivia's songs have certainly been nothing less than impactful so far. If she continues on her stellar journey she will no doubt be in contention for this years biggest breakthrough artist along with Bella Poarch.
In the live video for 'enough for you' Olivia Rodrigo is perched on a stool with just an acoustic guitar for company. The film is shot entirely in black and white with no special effects or enhancements. All you focus on is Olivia and the song as it slowly builds with Rodrigo getting more animated and passionate as the song progresses. It's no 'drivers licence' but it is yet another example of the broad range and quality that Olivia Rodrigo is capable of.
