Michigan rapper NF releases his first track of 2021 with new song 'CLOUDS'. The twenty nine year old singer, who recently announced via Instagram that he will become a Dad in August, dropped his new single whilst also saying he is due to release a ten track mixtape in March.
Taking to Twitter the singer-songwriter tweeted, "CLOUDS (THE MIXTAPE) drops March 26 - preorder now". (His forthcoming mixtape release will also include collaborations with HOPSIN and TECH N9NE). It's the first release this year for Nathan Feuerstein and follows his October 2020 single 'Chasing_(Demo)' that he released with Mikayla Sippel. His latest collection of songs will mark his first since his fifth studio album, 'The Search', was released nearly two years ago.
Ironically NF's latest song has lyrics that somewhat contradict his decision to put out a ten track mixtape in just over a month from now as he sings, "Mixtapes aren’t my thing but it’s been awfully exhausting, hanging onto song as long as daunting". The playful rap, reminiscent of Eminem, skips along to an equally theatrical soundtrack as NF gets ever more animated throughout.
The video for his new track takes the song and expands on it's increasingly dramatic tone and delivery. NF is originally pictured among dark and brooding clouds before being repositioned in an armchair, then a field and then onto wreak-havoc in the supermarket. Houses burn and cars crash in a freeway pile up as NF sings his song, walking undeterred from one chaotic scene to another. As the song continually builds and the tension rises so too do the unfolding events on screen in the video directed by Patrick Tohill and Nathan Feuerstein himself.
'CLOUDS' makes for a great start to 2021 for Feuerstein and bodes very well for is upcoming mixtape release.
