Måneskin - SUPERMODEL Video

A week after a triumphant win for Ukraine in the Eurovision 2022 finals, 2021 winners Måneskin have shared the video for their latest single - 'SUPERMODEL'. The Italian rockers have been one of only a handful of bands in recent years that have managed to take their Eurovision success and build upon it. 

Following on from taking the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest title with their song - 'Zitti e buoni', Italy's 2017 X Factor runners up have stayed in the international limelight with their subsequent releases - 'I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE' and 'MAMMAMIA'. 'SUPERMODEL', released on May 13th via Epic records, is currently number 43 in the UK charts but will no doubt rise higher now that they have shared their "cinematic" new video.

Talking about the film that accompanies their latest release, Måneskin said - "We tried to capture a cinematic vibe about an enigmatic character in the track and we wanted the visual to reflect that. After we came up with the idea, we worked closely with the directors and Ben [Chappell] to recreate frame shots and sequences from our favourite ’90s films. We had so much fun filming it in London, playing funny scenes that reminded us of a detective B-movie."

The video is directed by Bedroom projects who says that - "The Måneskin video was a project that was inspired by the references of a mixture of ’90s films like Run Lola Run, Reservoir Dogs, as well as Hitchcock and a bit of 1950s Hollywood. The macguffin of the mysterious purse was something out of Marnie or Pulp fiction. Shot on Super 16. 

Director and cinematographer Ben Chappell (The Raconteurs/Arctic Monkeys) said that - "This video came about after a week of sitting around the pool in LA with the band thumbing through ’90s Vogue magazines and talking about our favourite ’90s movies," adds Ben. "We tried to sneak in as many small references as we could throughout the video."
