With the festive season fast approaching Lil Nas X takes us on a trip to the North Pole with the video for his latest single release, 'Holiday'. In his underground lair, dressed as a space-age Father Christmas, Lil Nas himself explores his vast and cavernous distribution centre. It's like a not too distant, but futuristic Jeff Bezos fantasy played out in full. Sky high conveyer belts intertwine across the gigantic processing facility set below the ice, ready to fulfill everyone's material desires.
Twenty one year old Georgian Lil Nas X is probably young enough to remember his last letter to Santa and he certainly hasn't held back on his imagination here either. The popular Atlantan, who has yet to finalise the release of his debut album, goes all out in a world where everything seems possible and where every wish can be granted.
In his foil panted suit, with tinsel topped boots and silver braces Lil Nas sits atop his empire overseeing his impressive operation. As the video unfolds another version of Nas, 'Nasarati'-'New Evolved Model'-'Ready For Action', falls out of his box and parachutes down to the warehouse floor below. Seizing the moment he takes a spare toy Jeep pick-up for a joy ride before abandoning his ride to wow us all with his, none too shabby, dance moves.
Back in Kris Kringle mode Lil Nas heads out in his sleigh come car with his four sci-fi reindeer to pull him along through Hollywood (Renamed 'Holiday'), San Francisco and Times Square as he sets about delivering his presents. "Pop star, but the rappers still respect me", "I'm bad as Michael Jackson" Lil Nas X sings towards the end of what is a great video for an alternative Christmas chart topping contender.
