On the day that their film, 'Don't Look Up', premiers in theatres across America, Ariana Grande and Kid Cudi have released the full performance video for the film track - 'Just Look Up'. The collaborative song features both singers who star in the Netflix comedy that also stars Hollywood A-listers Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill and Jennifer Lawrence.
'Don't Look Up' gets it's full cinema release on December 10th, just two weeks ahead of it's arrival on the popular streaming site on Christmas Eve. Adam McKay's film has so far received mixed reviews from critics ahead of it's release with The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw labelling the film "slapstick apocalypse" that is "laboured, self-conscious and unrelaxed". In the somewhat harsh two-star review Bradshaw likened the satirical flick to a "145-minute Saturday Night Live sketch". It's now over to the viewing audience to make up their own mind and see for themselves. With such a stellar cast, that also includes Cate Blanchett, Tyler Perry and Mark Rylance, we think it highly unlikely that it's going to get such a scathing review from fans.
'Just Look Up' is the first time that Ariana Grande and Kid Cudi have worked together on a song and 'Don't Look Up' is the first time that the pair have appeared together on screen. Whilst acting may no longer be Ariana's major it is where her first real break came when she played Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon television series 'Victorious'. Keeping her hand in, especially in such esteemed company, is surely no bad things for the 'Positions' singer.
Grande and Cudi's new song was co-written by Ariana and Kid with the help of US composer and film producer Nicholas Britell ('Cruella'/'Moonlight') and Taura Stinson (Destiny’s Child/Kelis/Jennifer Hudson).
