David and Victoria Beckham are spending £1 million on security for their £31.5 million London home.

The famous couple are planning to move into the property with their children, Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 11, Cruz, eight, and Harper, two and they want to make sure the residence is kitted out with the highest level of protection in case of emergencies.

A source said: ''They will have a panic room, a 24-hour, 60-camera CCTV system they can check from anywhere in the world, and fingerprint-recognition entry phones.''

The boys, like their sister Harper who is believed to have a £600,000 Damian Hirst painting put in her bedroom, will also have pricey artworks displayed in their rooms.

A source told Grazia magazine: ''The boys will continue the art theme with prints by Banksy in each of their bedrooms.''

Victoria's interior designer friend Kelly Hoppen is managing the renovation and has take the time to speak to the boys to gain an insight into what they want.

Meanwhile, their sister's room will reportedly be decked out in a butterfly-decorated princess bed and walk-in wardrobe.

Victoria has plans to add a manicure and hair salon and spa to the property, while David has requested an elevator and luxury kitchen, that Gordon Ramsay has helped design.

The source said of Gordon: ''He has advised on the best equipment. There will even be a dessert station and room to cater for up to 50 people.''
