The Batman Forever star stayed at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles back in January (15) amid false reports suggesting he underwent an operation to remove a suspected tumour in his throat.

Kilmer did not give any details about his condition, but brushed off the cancer rumours in a post on Facebook.com, writing, "I have not had a tumor, or a tumor operation, or any operation. I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the UCLA ICU (Intensive Care Unit)."

He was rumoured to have been hospitalised again this week (beg19Oct15), and reports even suggested he had a tracheotomy tube fitted to his throat, but Kilmer is adamant the story is not true.

The actor confirmed he attended an appointment at the hospital, but insists it was just a check-up.

"Thanks for all your love and support. There's a rumor I'm unwell again and in hospital which is totally untrue," he writes in a new post on Facebook. "I was in to verify I have no tumor or infection of any kind which was verified by the caring experts at UCLA."
