This year's Ultra Music Festival looks set to be the best ever...and here's why.
Ultra Music Festival 2014 will once again be bringing together the biggest names in EDM in Miami. Alongside big-name DJ's there's also a fantastically diverse range of live acts that are ready to set the party city alight this March. Whether you're a dance music fanatic or favour house or drum and bass, there's something for everyone at this three day spectacular. Phase one and Phase two of the line up have already been announced and our jaws dropped in excitement at some of the big name acts, however, if you're still not convinced here are some reason’s why this year’s Ultra Music Festival looks set to be its biggest and best yet.
Skrillex will debut a new project at Ultra Music Festival
The Main Stage Giants
As always, Ultra Music Festival is bringing some of the biggest names in the dance scene to headline its arena main stage. On Friday Eric Prydz will present Halo which looks likely to top even his amazing 2013 hologram shows. There’s also Kaskade and Tiesto performing, not to mention producer supreme Diplo. Saturday sees the big names keep on coming with Arman van Helden, Above and Beyond and Alesso all making sure the dancing continues well into the night. The final day sees that the party will definitely not wind down as there’s Sander van Doorn, Afrojack, Steve Angello and David Guetta all taking the stage. As well those big names there’s also a hotly anticipated debut of a new super duo.
The Debut of Jack U
What happens when two of the world's foremost producers unite? They form a superduo so awesome that they had to wait until the Ultra Music Festival to make their big stage debut. Jack U is the collaboration between Skrillex and Diplo which was first announced back in April when Diplo tweeted ‘"Jack u... Means skrillex+diplo together..”. The duo unveiled some tracks during Mad Decent Block Party in San Diego last September but the Ultra Music Festival will mark their first big appearance together. Expect this to be massive as the pair take to the Main stage on Sunday.
Amazing live acts line-up
This year’s line up of live acts sees the festival go beyond expectations to deliver a diverse and captivating lineup. On Friday there’s the always wonderful MGMT who are sure to make sure Day One gets off to a soaring start with their anthematic hit list that was just made for an outdoor festival. Speaking of having the hits, British dance heavyweights Basement Jaxx will certainly ensure the party keeps going with their array of anthems. However the real treat on Friday comes from the undefinable M.I.A. who is making her first Ultra appearance. Expect her to get a rousing welcome onto the live stage. Saturday sees Australia’s Empire of the Sun headline as well as Danish multi-instrumentalist Trentemøller and hip hop artist Riff Raff. On Sunday its the turn of British rapper Dizzie Rascal who will bring his unique blend of hip hop and grime to the Miami sunshine. If it's hip hop you’re after Sunday's line up also sees Pusha T preceding Dizzie on the live stage. Hip hop artist Example will be making his debut at the festival this year, with electro duo Chase and Status headline the closing night.
Carl Cox and Friends and A State of Trance
Two of dance's biggest names are back with their annual UMF residencies this year. Firstly Carl Cox wil be celebrating his 10 year anniversary at the festival and is bringing along a host of friends to party with. The now legendary Carl Cox Stage will this year feature an international array of DJs including Britian's Pete Tong, Germany’s Loco Dice, Switzerland’s Luciano and Italy's Marco Carola. Then there's the 'A State of Trance' arena where trance legend Arman van Bruen’s takes the reigns once again. This year will have a special surprise for fans of Arman, as the DJ will be playing under his Gaia moliker which promises to bring a purist’s trance set. On top of that Arman will also be performing on the main stage on Saturday.
