The Tour Promoters For Tyler, The Creator Have Assured Fans His Trek Down Under Is Still Going Ahead After The Rapper Claimed He Has Been Banned From Entering Australia.
The Odd Future star, real name Tyler Okonma, took to Twitter.com on Monday (27Jul15) to suggest he has been "banned from Australia" and he laid the blame with feminist group Collective Shout, which campaigned for his visa to be denied due to his controversial lyrics.
He is scheduled to perform in the country in September (15), and his promoter Frontier Touring have told fans the dates are still going ahead.
A representative writes on Facebook.com, "With respect to media reports that Tyler The Creator's visa has been refused, Frontier would like to advise that this is not the case... The department for immigration has raised issues with the visa application but it has not been refused and Frontier will update ticket holders as soon as more information comes to hand."
A spokesman for the Department of Immigration and Border Control has confirmed the rapper's visa application is still pending.
He is due to perform in Brisbane on 3 September (15).
