The 75-year-old singer revealed that 'New York, New York' crooner Frank approached him about setting up their own establishment in Sin City with a group of other high profile entertainers and they even planned to call it Tiger Bay.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the Q Awards in London, he said: ''Frank Sinatra asked me if I would be interested in building a hotel with him in Las Vegas. He said to me, 'Let's do it and then we can control them rather than them controlling us.' It came pretty close, Frank and myself and Elvis Presley and some other people who were big names at the time we're going to do it. We almost got to it but it never occurred. We could have called it Tiger Bay, that would have been good.
''Elvis' karate name was Tiger. I've been known as El Tigre - that's my Spanish name - so I was known as The Tiger when I stared out. So Tiger Bay would have been a good name for it.''
Tom recently penned his autobiography, 'Tom Jones Over The Top and Back' and insisted it was easy because he has a ''photographic memory''.
He said: ''When I started writing the book it all came back to me, I think I've got a photographic memory because I see all those events in my head, it was amazing.
''Whenever I've been telling stories to other entertainers, they all said why you don't you write this down, you have so many stories they need to be told ... There are more characters where I grew up than there are in Hollywood. There are some great characters in working class communities. Singing in working men's clubs I met some great characters.''
