Calm down, everyone; Tom Hiddleston quashes rumours once again that he's all set to play James Bond in the next 007 movie, despite whispers that he was meeting with producer Barbara Broccoli and director Sam Mendes in Soho, London this week. Though that doesn't mean it's impossible, of course.

Tom HiddlestonTom Hiddleston continues to deny Bond rumours

It was alleged that 'The Night Manager' actor was meeting the Bond filmmakers at the Soho House members' club, but Hiddleston says that it was just coincidence that the trio were in the same place at the same time. A spokesperson for the star later told The Mirror that, 'He was there with one of his non-industry friends'.

Last week, the actor denied that he was in talks for the role on 'The Graham Norton Show'. 'The position isn't vacant as far as I'm aware - no-one has talked to me about it', he explained. 'I think the rumours have come about because in 'The Night Manager' I play a spy and people have made the link.'

Indeed, there's no reason to believe that Sam Mendes would be involved in the forthcoming 'Bond 25' anyway, as he has previously said that he wouldn't. And also, it's not yet confirmed that Daniel Craig won't return for another go at the British spy - though he did admit, rather controversially, last year that he'd rather 'slash [his] wrists' than do another Bond film.

Christoph Waltz - 'Spectre''s epic villain - has also apparently signed on to do two more films but with the caviat that Craig must return with him. So, the 25th anniversary of the franchise all seems rather up in the air at the moment. Other actors that have been rumoured to take over the role are Idris Elba, Tom Hardy and Damian Lewis.

What we can expect to see Hiddleston in over the coming months, however, is Jordan Vogt-Roberts' King Kong fantasy adventure 'Kong: Skull Island' and 'Thor: Ragnarok', both in 2017.
