Tom Hickox - Out Of The Warzone
North London singer songwriter Tom Hickox unveils a melancholy video for his latest single 'Out Of The Warzone', which is due for release on May 26th 2014 and taken from already released debut album 'War, Peace and Diplomacy'.
The video plays out in reverse as it opens with a devastated domestic scene featuring books laying abandoned on the floor next to a spilt plant pot and spilt milk lying next to a sea of cereal and an open fridge door, all while an utterly miserable looking man stares glumly into the distance. As the video progresses, the scene is reversed, with the man 'untrashing' his home and all the furniture righting themselves. While it feels like a pretty downbeat song with its gloomy country twang, and Tom's raw, croaky vocals, the reversing of the video adds a sense of positivity and optimism to it. It's a catchy tune, but not in that infectiously, dancey way - in the 'wave your lighters in the air' kind of way.
Having recently appeared on 'Later... With Jools', Tom is taking a tour around the UK for the first time this May, with a date even coming up for September's Festival No 6 in Portmerion, Wales.
