Olympic diver Tom Daley had the weight of the country on his shoulders at the London 2012 Olympics. The 18-year-old was Britain's solitary diving hope and had been for years - the focus was on him.

Daley fought to collect a bronze medal in the individual competition and went on to host his own ITV reality show Splash. Ok, so that programme wasn't very good, but the point is, Tom has been really, really busy - which makes his A-level results all the more unbelievable.

The Team GB diver was one of the thousands of high school students anxiously picking up their grades across the country on Thursday - and it was great news for the Olympic hero.

In a video posted online, Daley said he had received his results by email, describing it as "the most nerve-wracking thing ever." The 18-year-old needn't have worried however, achieving an A* in photography, an A in Spanish and an A in mathematics.

He added in the video he was going to miss school but was "very happy to come away with straight As'"

The results, coupled with Daley's experiences, would pretty much mean he could attend any university he wanted, though he's likely to eschew that route for now. Daley is set to star in a new ITV2 series, Tom Daley Takes on the World, which will see him backpacking around Thailand, Japan, Australia, Morocco and New Zealand.

Oh, and then there's the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
