Just three days after launching their Kickstarter campaign, TLC have not only raised enough money to record their fifth and final album, they’ve exceeded their goal. The group have so far raised over $210,000 in just three days, beating their target of $150,000 in 30 days.

TLCTLC have raised more than enough to record their fifth and final album

The amazing total is thanks in part to some of the band’s famous fans including singer Katy Perry, who, according to TMZ, has donated $5,000 to the campaign. That $5,000 pledge gets Perry a slumber party with the girls where she can “put on her jammies, order some late night snacks and have some #TLCPillowTalk".

Speaking about Perry’s donation TLC member T-Boz told Yahoo, “I’m a fan of her writing and her music. And you do a campaign like this, so it’s just heart warming to know that you are supported by your peers.”

But Katy isn’t the only famous name to help out the girls, the band also told People they were “so humbled by the outpour of support from other artists like Katy Perry, New Kids On The Block, Dev Hynes, Russell Simmons, Soulja Boy, Bette Midler and more!” Yes, Bette Midler is a TLC fan!

At the beginning of the campaign the group wrote on Kickstarter, "Our final album will stay true to the TLC sound, always confronting the real issues and life experiences that we all must face every single day, everywhere. We write music that people relate to...timeless music. No matter the trends, we feel like our music is always relevant.”

2015 looks set to be a big year for the duo as earlier this week it was also announced the group would be joining New Kids On The Block and Nelly on the 43 date ‘Main Event’ tour, which kicks off in Las Vegas this May.
