Following a coroner's inquest, the cause of death for The Overtones singer Timmy Matley has now been revealed six months after his passing. But it wasn't what we initially thought, and fans are reacting in shock over the tragic circumstances of his untimely death.

Back in April, we wrongly reported that Matley passed away after his two-year battle with a stage three malignant melanoma, but it has now come to light that his death was actually the result of the singer having falling from a 13th floor balcony after having consumed crystal meth.

The Overtones Lose Singer Timmy Matley To Cancer


The Overtones

The Overtones are grieving for the loss of their lead singer Timmy Matley, who died recently after a long battle with skin cancer. As of yet, the exact details of what caused his treatment to fail at this stage despite some positive progress earlier this year is unknown. He was just 36-years-old.

The Irish singer was first diagnosed with stage three malignant melanoma back in September 2016, leading to his absence from the vocal harmony group's Christmas tour. He did, however, make it on stage with the band in July 2017 after receiving an innovative treatment plan.

The Overtones - Say What I Feel


The Overtones' new single, Say What I Feel, will be released on February 6th, 2012, through Warner Music Entertainment. It is taken from the Platinum edition of their debut album, Good Ol' Fashioned Love, which was released in November 2010 and peaked at number 4 in the UK Album Charts.

The Story of the Overtones is one that really only exists in movie scripts, the story is an idyllic one, a bunch of painter and decorators were singing for fun during a well earned tea break when a Warner Brothers talent scout just happened to be walking past and signed them up. It really is a genuine rags (literally) to riches story, and one that has a happy ending, as the groups first album Good Ol Fashioned Love reached number four and went platinum. Fair enough.
