To coincide with the release of their first album in almost nine years, veteran Californian rockers The Offspring have premiered a lyric video for 'This Is Not Utopia'; the opening track from the record. Having not released an album since 2012's 'Days Go By', the latest full length recording from the 'Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)' band is eagerly anticipated by their hoards of long term fans.
'Let The Bad Times Roll' is the tenth album from The Offspring, and comes 32 years after their first, eponymously titled, release. The two constants of Dexter Holland and Noodles (No relation to the Gorillaz) continue to steer the band on the latest release.
The new album has been a long time in the making and possibly even longer in actually making it to market. Back in 2019 when the new record was thought to be complete Noodles said, "We don't have a record deal right now and we're trying to work something out. We don't know what we're going to do with that." In an Instagram post that followed in February of 2019 he went on to say, "The album is done. Working on getting it to the fans now. Stay tuned!"
It was February this year before both Holland and Noodles jointly confirmed a release date and title for the new album. To date The Offspring have lifted two tracks from their tenth album, the title track back on February 24th, and 'We Never Have Sex Anymore', on April 2nd.
The energy and intensity of the band is undiminished on their latest release. 'Let The Bad Time's Roll', and in particular the new single release, 'This Is Not Utopia', are signature Offspring tracks; driven, unrelenting and frenzied bursts of anthemic alternative rock. It's great to have them back.
The album, 'Let The Bad Times Roll', is released on April 16th via Wabi Sabi Worldwide.
April 2021 may have been one of the coldest in 60 years, but there were still enough hot releases to warm our hearts and fuel our fires.
