The National has just released a new single entitled 'Day I Die' from their forthcoming album 'Sleep Well Beast'. The latter is now available for pre-order and will be released on September 8th 2017 through 4AD.
Directed by Casey Reas, the video is rather an impressive piece of artistic photography, made up of a montage of black and white clips of the band performing on stage - almost like time-lapse shots looped repeatedly. It flicks from wide, full-stage shots to band member close-ups and the shots are interspersed with rainbow-like flashes of colour.
It follows previously released singles 'The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness', 'Guilty Party' and 'Carin at the Liquor Store', all of which will appear on their self-produced seventh studio album which was recorded at Long Pond studio in Hudson Valley, New York.
The band will embark on their world tour in September 2017, with a set of North American, Irish, European, Mexican, Australian and New Zealand dates.
