The Killers Outshine Stellastarr* - The Cockpit, Leeds - Friday Feb 27 th | ||

| Shawn Christensen and were ably supported by the musical offerings of bandmates Arthur Kremer (percussion, keyboards) and Michael Jurin (Guitar). Somewhat predictable highlights came in the shape of new single My Coco', released March 8 th through RCA and previous single Jenny'. Unfortunately, by the time Stellarstarr* stepped on stage their fate was sealed, as The Cockpit crowd was still reeling from the undeniably more stellar' performance turned in by their own support act that the native New Yorkers cosmic charms failed to top or even equal. The Nevada four stole the show, belting out their Almond-esque electro-rhythms and engaging the crowd with an on-stage energy that would be enough to power the bright lights of the Vegas Strip. The poster-boy good looks of frontman Brandon Flowers and his band, Dave Keuning on guitar, Mark Stoermer on bass and Ronnie Vennucci on drums, are equalled only by their talent, charisma and pure showmanship. New single Somebody Told Me', released March 15 th on CD and 7, featuring extra tracks The Ballad of Michael Valentine' and Under the Gun', looks set to propel The Killers to the big time and former single Mr Brightside' also garnered an enthusiastic response.
