The Feeling Sewn Single

Having met at college in Croydon, five-piece The Feeling are purveyors of the soft-rock sound that is currently saturated thanks to the mind-numbing success of Coldplay. They cite 10CC and Supertramp amongst their influences, and bassist Richard Jones married Sophie Ellis-Bextor in 2005, having been part of her touring band.

From their forth coming "12 Stops And Home" album, "Sewn" suffers from the afore-mentioned stagnant nature of indie music based around the piano. It's a very pleasant track and vocalist Dan Gillespie has a truly wonderful voice, but it just doesn't stand out amongst the efforts of their peers, such as Snow Patrol. No doubt The Feeling will find their fan base, and this track will have many arms swaying, but in the great scheme of the music world it's nothing that hasn't been done a hundred times before.
