The Dead Fronts - Killer Bee
Grunge quintet The Dead Fronts have released 'Killer Bee'; the first track from their upcoming EP 'Dangerous Impressions' scheduled for release on November 19th 2012 through their very own label Kiossk records.
As the video for the new track, they have released a short animated movie directed by Tom Senior. It shows a man going about his day; morning routine, going to work, grabbing a taxi; before going on a date with a woman. The animation is very low budget, so one has to assume the swarm of little black triangles with white wings at the end are the 'killer bees' in the title. It's a great pop anthem with a catchy tune and a broad mix of influences on it including swing, classic rock and a dark, blues sound too.
The band; who are vocalist Jordan Smith, guitarists Gaz Tomlinson and Russell Ditchfield, bassist Muz McHattie and drummer Stu Roberts; recorded their new EP on their own in two weeks in a rundown garage they had converted into a studio using borrowed and donated recording equipment. It was later mixed by Justin Hill in Fortress Studios. The Dead Fronts will perform live at the Barfly in London on October 27th 2012.
