The Boy Least Likely To
Be Gentle With Me
'Be Gentle With Me' is the new single from The Boy Least Likely To - Britain's finest purveyors of inspired sweet & sour pop music. Rejecting the limited anger/angst emotional palette of rock, Pete (music) and Jof (lyrics and vocals) drew instead on the likes of Brian Wilson, Dexy's Midnight Runners and Belle & Sebastian to provide the inspiration for their acclaimed debut album The Best Party Ever. Inventive, inclusive and refreshingly free of irony, the album has been winning over legions of fans with it's infectious melodies and imaginative songwriting, covering the eternal themes of love, loss and cheap fizzy pop.
'Be Gentle With Me' was originally released as a limited 7" back in December 2003. Pete and Jof spent two days searching for a children's glockenspiel and then took three months to record three minutes and 50 seconds of music. After all, The Boy Least Likely To's songs only sound so brilliantly, effortlessly pop because they've been seriously, gleefully sweated over.
'Be Gentle With Me' is out on 27 February 2006 on Too Young To Die
