Taylor Swift channels a number of popular sci-fi franchises with the video for her single '...Ready For It?'; the second single from her new album 'Reputation'. Plus, just like her previous video for 'Look What You Made Me Do', look close enough and you'll see a lot of references to her own career in there too.
The singer dropped a few controversial teaser clips on social media ahead of the launch of the full video; controversial because she appeared completely naked in some of the frames. However, she was merely doing Scarlett Johansson in 'Ghost of the Shell' when she donned her skin-titght nude suit.
There's elements of 'Blade Runner' and 'Tron: Legacy' in there too, as well as reimagined images that viewers will find familiar from her older videos such as 'Blank Space', 'Out of the Woods' and 'Bad Blood'.
Perhaps the most interesting features in the video is the birth years of herself and her boyfriend Joe Alwyn scrawled on the wall, the Chinese characters for 'Year of the Snake', and the words 'Ur Gorgeous' - referencing her promotional single. People are also saying the imagery looks a bit like that of Calvin Harris' song 'This Is What You Came For' on which she was a co-writer.
Ahead of the release of her sixth studio album 'Reputation', she dropped a new promotional single entitled 'Call It What You Want'. While she has never publicly confirmed that she is in a relationship with Alwyn, it's safe to assume that this was also written about him - much like 'Gorgeous'.
'Reputation' is out now on Big Machine Records.
