In an effort to take back control of her entire back catalogue Taylor Swift is re-recording and re-releasing material that she does not own the rights to. Her fan favourite, 'Love Song', from Swift's 2008 album 'Fearless' is the first of those releases. Taylor made the expected announcement on TV, via Good Morning America, that she would be recording new versions of her older material before her new take on 'Love Story' was released.
Taylor Swift also announced that as well as releasing a re-recorded set of 'Fearless' songs from the original album she would also be including six previously unreleased tracks from the same period. Taylor's latest lyric video to accompany the reworked version of 'Love Story' also uses images captured around the time it was originally recorded. The trip down memory lane incorporates shots of Taylor and her adoring fans as she poses with them and signs autographs. The nostalgic look back is like looking at an album from yesteryear where Swift looks so young, it's hard to believe that it was only 2008.
Swift's video also includes the inscription 'To all of my fans' as well as some home made banners among the photographs, one of which reads, "Marry Me". Released just ahead of Valentine's Day, 'Love Story' has further fuelled the fire of desire for all things Taylor Swift.
After an unprecedented year of success in 2020 where Taylor released not one, but two very impressive albums her light is shining brighter than ever as she goes about reclaiming what is rightfully hers. After her previous record company, Big Machine Label Group, was sold again Taylor Swift announced that she would be re-recording her first six records, with 'Fearless' being the first of them. The expected date for release, although not confirmed, is 9th April 2021.
