Taylor Swift thanked her fans for helping her break a record by becoming the first solo artist to play eight shows at London's Wembley Stadium on one tour - calling her final concert a "dream come true".
Taylor Swift thanked her fans for helping her break a record at London's Wembley Stadium.
The 34-year-old pop superstar played three shows at the venue back in June on her 'The Eras Tour' and she returned this month to add five more dates and she told the crowd at her final concert there on Tuesday night (20.08.24) that it made her the first solo artist to play eight shows at there on one tour.
Taylor said: "You just made me the first solo artist to ever play Wembley eight times in a single tour," she told fans. "We will never, ever be able to thank you enough for it."
Late King of Pop Michael Jackson previously set there record by staging seven shows at Wembley Stadium on his 'Bad' tour back in 1988.
Taylor went on to applaud the audience for their dedication during her final Wembley show, saying: "I've always loved playing for you here in London, but this is the best.
"I've never had it this good before. I've never had a crowd that's so generous. You seem to have memorised every single lyric of every single song, and that's a dream come true."
Taylor pulled out all the stops for the last show - bringing her pal Florence Welch on stage to duet on their track 'Florida!!!' from her latest album 'The Tortured Poets Department'.
Later in the gig, Taylor had another surprise for fans when she brought out friend and producer Jack Antonoff with the singer telling the crowd she felt lucky she was able to work with her best friend.
The pair played 'Death By A Thousand Cuts' from 'Lover' and 'Getaway Car' from 'Reputation'.
Taylor later gave a nod to the final show at Wembley by playing 'So Long London' from 'The Tortured Poets Department', closing the concert by telling the crowd: "Thank you for the memories we will keep for the rest of our lives".
