As well as being one of the music industry's most successful young stars, Taylor Swift is also known as a serial dater after having brief romances with high-profile stars such as One Direction's Harry Styles, John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal, but none of them lasted because she is apparently too young.

"I'm just not looking at guys right now," she said. "My life is really busy and complicated and it becomes too chaotic when I involve someone else in it. It's something I've observed over time that if you give people one thing to talk about, they multiply it by 50 and make all these sensational stories about you. So if you give them zero, they can't multiply it."

For the time being, Swift wants her fans and the general public not to worry about her personal life, but just to pay attention to her music career.

"I would so much rather people focus on what I've created," she continued. "Honestly, it's not really a priority for me at the moment. I'm 24 and kind of too young to find 'the one' and I don't want to date for no reason, so I just don't."

The Grammy-winning recording artist also discussed the inspiration behind her forthcoming fifth studio album '1989.'

"It's got emotional complexity, but it's not about devastation or pining away or rocking back and forth sobbing," she said. "It's much more about the last two years of my life, which have been about moving to New York, surrounding myself with friends, figuring out who I am, independence, freedom, all those things."
