Taylor Swift’s been keeping a pretty low profile in the couple of months since she and Tom Hiddleston split, but if there’s one thing that’ll always bring her out of hiding, it’s a public holiday, and this Halloween she went out on the town in style – dressed in Ryan Reynolds’ actual Deadpool costume.

The 27 year old singer and her star-studded squad made a great night of it on Monday, as she and her pals got together in New York for a party, capturing the moment on Instagram.

Thanks @vancityreynolds for this costume, you're the BEST deadpool inside contact ever ??????????

Gigi Hadid dressed as a “cub scout,” Martha Hunt went as “Martha Brady,” model Lily Donaldson was a “space cadet,” Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello was “a granny with a lost cat” (with the lost cat being Swift’s pet, Meredith), “birthday girl” Kennedy Raye was a cat, and Emmie Gundler was “Black Swan.”

But it was Swift’s costume as the foul-mouthed superhero Deadpool, played memorably by Ryan Reynolds earlier this year in the blockbuster movie of the same name, that drew everybody’s attention.

“Thanks [Ryan Reynolds] for this costume,” she captioned a second photo on Instagram. “You're the BEST Deadpool inside contact ever.”

One presumes she got it as a result of her close friendship with Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, after they spent the Fourth of July weekend together. 29 year old Lively, who reportedly gave birth to her second child in September, chipped in with a comment on Instagram, writing “#HusbandUpgrade”.

Swift, who broke up with Hiddleston in September after a whirlwind romance of a few months, is thought to be in the process of writing new music, having spent most of 2016 resting in the aftermath of a world tour that spanned nearly a year promoting the massive-selling 1989.
