Outspoken feminist Camile Pagila has not been particularly favourable about Swifty
Taylor Swift’s meteoric rise to super super-stardom has given her a legion of fans, a cupboard full of awards and a lot of approval for her handsome Scottish boyfriend, Calvin Harris. However, it appears that not everyone is impressed with her fabulous life that is also regularly centred around her stylish girl squad.
Taylor Swift and her girl squad have come under criticism
Celebrated feminist and cultural critic Camile Pagila has hit out at the successful singer, describing her as a "Nazi Barbie".
In an essay published in The Hollywood Reporter, Pagila takes on the concept of "girl squads" and describes Swift’s "twinkly persona" as a "scary flashback to the fascist blondes who ruled the social scene during my own youth".

Pagila sees the idea of female friendship groups clustering around celebrities such as Swift as a "hashtag summer craze" and describes their documentation on social media as "exhibitionist overkill".
Pagila writes that Swift should "retire that obnoxious Nazi Barbie routine of wheeling out friends and celebrities as performance groups".

The popstar brought her large collection of high profile friends together for her music video Bad Blood earlier this year which featured Lena Dunham, Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez and Lily Aldridge among others which may be what Pagile finds so offensive.
However, for Pagile, she is surely in the minority of people who feel negative towards Taylor who recently won International Artist of the Year at the BBC Music Awards.
